Kremlin says it will send greetings to Trump for New Year, Christmas
"As polite people, we will send Mr. Trump our congratulations on Christmas and the New Year," said Yuri Ushakov, aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a briefing with reporters.
Ushakov’s remarks followed earlier statements from Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, who said officials would later confirm whether Putin would send holiday greetings to Trump.
In addition, Ushakov emphasized that Moscow expects all participants in the ongoing Ukraine peace discussions, including the United States, to honor agreements reached in previous negotiations, such as the August Alaska summit between Trump and Putin. His comments came in response to questions about Moscow’s expectations for upcoming US-Russia talks in Miami, Florida, aimed at advancing a settlement in Ukraine.
As stated by reports, Russian presidential aide Kirill Dmitriev, who announced his visit to Miami on Saturday, told journalists that his discussions with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law and unofficial adviser Jared Kushner are progressing well and will continue over the weekend.
